Professional and Trade Associations exist for the same reasons :

  1. Establish a standards and practice of conduct for their respective specialised field;
  2. Provide a contact point for members of the public to both understand their work and to bring matters of dispute or interest to a central body for discussion, study or arbitration;
  3. Provide a contact point for fellow professionals of the same field from other countries to establish social and business relations and to exchange information and knowledge of their chosen field.

In this regards, Professional and Trade Associations are important in providing members of the public a single point of contact to start their enquiry.
